We want to welcome you to the Freeburg Community Bible
Church's website! If you have been looking for a
family-oriented church or have a desire to serve God - then come see
us! We have opportunities to serve in music, drama,
maintenance, outreaches, and various Sunday School & children's
ministries. As we continue to grow, so will our need for
servants! We would like to invite you to visit us this Sunday
and see for yourself how God is working in your local community
Bible church!
At Freeburg Community Bible Church,
our philosophy of ministry is best stated by an early church leader
named Chrysostom: "In essentials, unity. In non-essentials,
charity. In all things, Jesus Christ."
We have deep convictions based on the
authority of God's Word, but we do not draw battle lines
over minor points. Nor do we make minor issues of doctrine a
test of fellowship in the local church. We are evangelical.
We believe in separate living and personal holiness, but we
are not separatistic.
We believe in the spiritual unity of the
Church though not necessarily in structural union. We
join with other Christians and other denominations of like precious
faith in common goals and ministries to accomplish the Great
Commandment and the Great Commission. But we believe that
there is strength in diversity and that it is important to preserve
our distinctive. We recognize that union in structure does not
guarantee unity of spirit. Our foremost concern is unity of
spirit with our Lord, with each other, and with other
Christians.
Style of Worship & Teaching. Our
worship service is a mix of contemporary praise and traditional
hymns. Our teaching/preaching is exegetical in nature
(straight from the Bible) and free of traditional &
denominational dogma.
Communities Served. Freeburg Community
Bible Church has members and visitors from the surrounding
communities of Belleville, Smithton, New Athens, O'Fallon, Scott
